Spring ART CLASSES!

DEB MAGELSSEN STUDIO
Deb's Popular Workshops and Classes are Easy, Fun and Educational!

Expressive Acrylic and Watercolor Florals Saturday May 1, 2010 10am-4pm A wonderful world of colorful flowers await you. Whether you prefer acrylics or watercolors, Deb emphasizes the use of color to create beautiful flowers. We will take a single flower and complete several small works of art that express this flower in a myriad of painterly ways. Lots and lots of color used straight from the tube and finger-painted on the canvas makes this workshop a bit messy. (Don't worry-you can paint with a brush if you want.) Be prepared to bring some protective gloves and your "messy" clothes for a fun-filled, (full of laughter), but very educational floral workshop. You can choose to paint in acrylic, watercolor or both! Be sure to bring specific paper to paint on-watercolor paper for watercolors and gessoed watercolor paper or boards for acrylics. Materials list for watercolor and acrylic workshops.

Expressive Watercolors Tuesday May 4, 2010 5pm-8pm
Expressive Watercolors is a passionate workshop where you are to free to express yourself and paint from your heart. Isn't that what you've always wanted to do? No judgement, critiques (unless asked) and "shoulds". Using color as a primary means of expression, this workshop is for students and artists who want to experiment in a safe and playful environment. With the elements of art and the principles of design to establish a good base, we will paint freely and express whattruly inspires you. Don't forget to bring reference photo's! Students work at their own pace in this fun-filled workshop. Materials list for watercolor workshops.

Colorful Characters and Figures in Watercolor Tuesday May 11, 2010 5pm-8pm
This portrait and figure workshop is easier than you think! Funny and funky portraits and abstract figures are painted in an easy way! You will not have to worry about drawing ability to get a good character portrait and/or figure sketch. We will paint with intense color to bring about a dramatic and successful painting. We paint intuitively and establish a mood, feeling or emotion and not necessarily a "likeness" as an end result. This workshop is a fun, interactive workshop for beginners to advanced students and artists. Think a lot of laughs and a lot of fun! Materials list for watercolor workshops.

New! Expressive Art Deco Dog Portraits Tuesday May 18, 2010 5pm-8pm Have you ever wanted to paint your special dog with expression from your own heart? You'll have the choice of painting in watercolors, acrylics, or both! These two workshops are scheduled back to back and are available for the watercolorist and/or the acrylic painter. Take the first class and paint in watercolor, take the next class and paint in acrylics, or visa-versa! You choose! Of course, you can always choose to take only one of these classes. Either way, we will use a variety of colors and apply them in an "Art Deco" way-it's fun and easy! You will come away with a variety of wonderful paintings of your dog-and more! Bring several photo's of your favorite pooch or pupper, a good sense of humor, and some idea's in mind in which you want to paint your dog creatively. You can choose to paint in acrylic, watercolor or both! Be sure to bring specific paper to paint on-watercolor paper for watercolors and gessoed watercolor paper or boards for acrylics. Materials list for acrylics and watercolors.
